PROJECT 2

In this project we were asked to develop a nest for handling product on a beckhoff XTS system. We faced the challenge of the XTS system being capable of accelerating at 100 m/s² and can experience high G forces when traveling round corners. With this in mind we designed the nest with carbon fiber sprung sides. This allowed the product to be easily loaded from the side while maintaining the grip on the high G cornering.  The inside of the nest was lined with nylon to minimise damage to the component and increase the durability of the nest.  Designed / manufactured using our inhouse additive manufacturing capability allowed for a rapid transition from concept to production.
